Innovating for Transformation - Renewal through Collective Entrepreneurial Action

The Center for Knowledge and Innovation Research (CKIR) of Aalto University School of Economics, Finnish Innovation Fund (SITRA) and Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy (TEM) cordially invites You to join the discussion on challenges and opportunities of innovation in transformation.

The fundamental ongoing transformations in our society call for new types of collaborative mechanisms that resonate with the relational dynamism of value and wealth creating networks. The experiences gained from the open innovation networks, business ecosystems and public-private partnerships emphasize the creative, innovative and transformative nature of relations and modes of collaboration. Innovation for Transformation has turned into Collective Entrepreneurial Action embedded into the networks of ac-tors. It is broadly accepted that entrepreneurial action accounts for most of economic renewal in the or-ganizations as well as more broadly in the society. Collective entrepreneurial action is discussed as the relational and structural dynamism of creative innovation networks. The novelty is an outcome of trans-formative interaction of people, firms and institutions. The relational and contextual nature of innovative entrepreneurship requires new dynamic structures, distributed and embedded leadership and network governance for innovation and renewal.

The conference engages thoughtful practitioners and leadings scholars into a discussion on the phenom-enon: Renewal through Collective Entrepreneurial Action in the context of innovation networks, compa-nies, public sector, public-private partnerships and academia. The conference provides an opportunity to elaborate the benefits of open, demand and user-driven innovation paradigm for the value creation in the arenas and forums of human life. From energy efficient cities point of view, workshop discusses interest-ing topics such as energy efficiency, sustainable social and cultural development, e-democracy, social media and welfare services. It is in every way important to include cities to innovation networks and pur-sue to open public services for innovation research in the future.

The workshop centers on change forces behind the transformation, new types of collaborative mecha-nisms and concrete steps forward within innovation paradigm. The aim of the workshop is to understand collective entrepreneurial action as a phenomenon, outline its characteristics for success and to find means to lead entrepreneurial action both on private and on public sector.
